In the opening titles of the film Halloween (1978) we are very little visual information about what might happen in the film. All that we know is that the pumpkin onscreen gives connotations of the film being a horror as pumpkins are strongly linked to halloween a main feature of many horror films. This pumpkin also tells us that one of the main themes of the film is halloween.
On the other hand the soundtrack playing during the title sequence tells us things such as there being a eerie atmosphere in the film due to the tone and pitch of the soundtrack.
